Kamaal the Abstract was set to be released by Artista in 2002 and they thought it wasnt commercial enough to make money, so they shelved it. He has been trying to get this album out for years and almost succeeded in 2007 just to be shut down again. Enjoy his Genius, then buy it when it gets released in 20-whenever.

Fun DMC- Album Review

I picked this up at the Fetus after a hectic Thursday and i haven't put it down. it is very calming and laid back, while staying up beat. I can feel the 90's all the way though and it is just what the title advertizes; it's fun. it comes with a comic book inside and it is all about the state of hip hop and how it has kind of taken a turn for the worse. Hip hop has become very serious in their opinion and people are missing the point of hip hop, which is to have fun with it. This is true to some degree and this album brings some fresh air to the masses. It's solid all the way through and I'm definitely playing it at my next BBQ, I'll give it a solid 4/5.

I just saw Murs and Kidz in the Hall at the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis and they did not dissapoint. Kidz in the Hall opened and killed it infront of a crowd who barely knew Nalege and Double O nd had the place rocking. the only criticism i had was they were not too creative (doing a Swagger Like Us freestyle, a song that sounded too much like '93 Till, a drummed beat by Double O that sounded very similar to A Mili and ending the concert with a What You Know tribute) for being Ivy Leauge graduates. I feel they did this beause they anticipated the crowd would not have too much background on who they were, so from a fans perspective that was a bit dissapointing. And then comes Murs. Even though it was the Murs for President Tour he had a perfect balance of old and new songs, playing hits from the new cd and oldies such as Bad Man, H-U-S-T-L-E and L.A. He even expressed his love for Minneapolis as a whole by playing Dirty Girl and wearing a Brother Ali tee shirt. on top of this, he was sick and still tore the house down. It was the highlight of my trip home. And for all of you who are Murs/9th Wonder fans, he want you all to have this. ive had it like 3 months but he wants every fan to have it, so enjoy.

I'm usually gonna wait about 2 weeks before i review a cd just so i can get a feel for it. i'll review whenever i feel its fit. Murs For President was Murs' first major label main stream release. it was schedules to come out last march and got pushed back all the way to late september because of leaking issues. now i have been following murs since Living Legends so i consider myself a big fan. i though he was gonna bring his underground all the way up and kill the mainstream with this release and he didnt really do that. i mean, he has a snoop song but no love for luckyiam or the grouch? c'mon now. Past Can It Be and Road is My Religon there isnt much substance. but then again, who hasnt done a road song. Lookin' Fly bumps, but it is a product of the mainstream. i just feel like he kinda gave in to the mainstream instead of changing it. he even has a song that sounds like evanessence. i dont even know how to spell that. His rhymes are still there somewhat, but he didnt really come through like he could have. but since he's still better than your favorite rapper, i'll give him 3.5/5.

now with these songs, the cd may have been a bit more quality.
